Psychiatrist Vyacheslav Vesnin, 47, leader of the Self-Improvement Foundation in Orenburg, southern Russia, was sentenced to 9 years in jail for psychologically pressuring his followers, who numbered in the hundreds, to take part in sexual orgies, and for indoctrinating minors in sexual promiscuity. It is said that Vesnin, who called himself a master and guru, held a magnetic attraction for women. Followers included government officials, bankers, lawyers, and security officers.
