Abstract
A salient characteristic of totalist groups is the alienation/estrangement of
their members from outsiders, including members' families. The family alienation
can be exacerbated by family attempts to "rescue” the group member. A
twelve-point model is introduced to help families of totalist group ex-members
in the process of psychological reintegration.
