Psychological Issues of Former Fundamentalists*
James C. Moyers, M.A., M.F.C.C.
Abstract
Psychological problems of former fundamentalists often involve their past
religious beliefs and practices. Recovery will involve careful examination of
the way in which their religious history affects their current life. An
understanding of the basic tenets and practices of fundamentalism is helpful for
the professional who treats such individuals.
