I. For those arriving by PLANE at Brussels National
Airport
A railway station is operational
in the airport. A special train provides service between the airport and the
city. The trip lasts approximately 30 minutes.
From the airport to the city:
All the trains stop at the North Station (Gare du Nord), the Central
Station (Gare Centrale) and the South Station (Gare du Midi). There are several
trains per hour, first departure: 5:32 am - last departure: 12:20 am
Tickets are sold at the
airport (there is a counter at the entry of the
platform]: Price: 2.50 € (2nd class) and in the train.
Take the train from the airport
and go as far as GARE DU MIDI.
At The GARE DU Midi TAKE the
METRO; LINE 2
DIRECTION “SIMONIS”.
COST 1.50€
Get off at the 4th
stop: PORTE DE NAMUR (approximately 10 minutes)
Exit: Avenue Marnix.
Follow your right up the Boulevard Avenue Marnix. Walk two blocks – Rue
d’Egmont is the second to the right on the same side of the Boulevard.
II. For those arriving by PLANE at Brussels-South
(Charleroi) Airport
This airport is situated
approximately 60 km South of Brussels and serves many low cost RYANAIR flights
to Italy, Ireland and the U.K.
From the
airport to the city:
By bus:
More than 20 times a
day a bus links Charleroi Brussels-South and the Brussels’ Station “Gare du
Midi” (South Station).
The schedules are organised to serve RYANAIR flights.
The arrival of the shuttle in Brussels is located at the intersection of the Rue
de France and the Rue de l’ Instruction ("Thalys" exit in the Gare du Midi.)
Single journey:
10.00 € (the tickets are sold inside the bus).
At The GARE DU Midi TAKE the

III. For those arriving by TRAIN FROM LONDON, PARIS,
LILLE, AND ELSEWHERE: EUROSTAR, THALYS, TGV, ALL ARRIVE IN GARE DU MIDI:

DIRECTION “SIMONIS”; cost

IV. For those arriving by CAR:
The Conference venue is close to
the Porte de Namur (almost centre of the City).
It is impossible to park a
car in the street on weekdays. There is a PARKING PORTE DE NAMUR (see map:
entrance Rue de Namur/Boulevard de Waterloo side) it is easy access and there
are plenty of parking spaces, it is well lit and monitored. Cost per day ±15 €.
Exit the Parking Avenue Marnix, turn right into Avenue Marnix. Walk two blocks
– Rue d’Egmont is the second to the right on the same side of the Boulevard.
To reach Rue d’ Egmont by car:
after “Porte Louise” do NOT take the tunnel.
Exit Boulevard at Porte de Namur.
Take the Rue du Champ de
Mars which is on the right and forms a V with Avenue Marnix. Drive two blocks.
Rue d’Egmont is the second on the left. It is a one- way street and may only be
reached via Rue du Champs de Mars.
