Netanel Blasbalg formed the Parents Against Cult Association (PACA) in Israel
in 1983. About 150 parents joined the association while the prevailing estimate
of active cult members in Israel was about 3000. PACA was instrumental in
increasing awareness in Israel, the government of which appointed an
Interministerial Committee to look into cults [their report was reprinted in
Cultic Studies Journal]. Mr. Blasbalg consolidated three major groups concerned
with cults in Israel and formed the “Forum Against Cults” several years ago.
