Natascia Boeri is a
Ph.D. student in sociology
at the Graduate Center of
the City University of New
York. Her research interests
include gender and sociology
of the body. Past projects
include a study of
second-generation,
ex-members of a new
religious movement. She is
currently working on a
quantitative, cross-national
analysis of women’s
