Julian Chater

 

Julian Chater, a postgraduate classicist with an interest in the social and political history of the Roman Empire, studied the personality cults of the period and has an interest in apparent similarities and analogues with modern cults.

Having worked in the finance and internet industry, he currently works as Communications Director at The Family Survival Trust, a registered charity in England and Wales, which helps support and advise the families, friends and ex-members (and sometimes current members) of abusive cults.

He is currently researching for a book on the methods employed by one such group, and is interviewing former members for their experiences.
