Randy Kandel, Ph.D., J.D.
Randy Kandel, Ph.D., J.D. is an attorney practicing
in New York, an anthropologist, and Adjunct Professor at John Jay College of
Criminal Justice of the City University of New York. Her numerous publications
include the new book Family Law: Essential Terms and Concepts (Aspen Law
& Business 2000), and “Litigating the Cult-Related Child Custody Case”
(originally published in Cultic Studies Journal, 4(2)/5(1) and
republished in Cults & Consequences: The Definitive Handbook (Commission
on Cults and Missionaries of the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los
Angeles, 1987). Her current research focuses on the human rights of
