Ronald N. Loomis

 

Ronald N. Loomis has been educating others about cults for some 25 years at over 100 colleges and universities throughout the US and Canada. He is a Past President of the original Cult Awareness Network (CAN) and was a founding member of the Steering Committee of the International Cult Education Program (ICEP) and was Chair of the Interim Planning Committee (IPC), which created the Leo J. Ryan Education Foundation (LJREF) and the Cult Information and Resource Center (CIRC), (CULTINFO). In 1999, he served as a principle expert witness for the Legislative Task Force on Cults in Maryland. He has been cited in such publications as The New York Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Congressional Quarterly, The Christian Science Monitor, The Toronto Sun and Newsweek Magazine. He has been interviewed by the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC), The Today Show at the request of NBC News, The Discovery Channel, ABC Productions, and Current Affair. He is featured in the educational video, Cults, Saying No Under Pressure, and he authored a chapter in the book Cults on Campus.
