Colleen Russell, LMFT, CGP, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified group psychotherapist. As a Certified Group Psychotherapist she has met nationally accepted criteria of education, training and experience in group psychotherapy. She is also a former member of two cults, a "Christian/Mystical" cult from 14 - 16 years of age, and an "Eastern/New Age" cult from 19 - 27 years of age. Ms. Russell facilitates an on-going exploratory, educational group for former members, now in its eighth year, in her Mill Valley office. She endeavors to support healthy as opposed to cultic group functioning and dynamics. Besides a general practice she specializes in cult education and recovery and works with individuals, couples, and families, offering in-office and phone sessions.
