Marina Sarran was born and raised in Italy and currently speaks four
languages. As a comparative sociologist, she has been working with Dr. Dane
Archer on several cross-cultural research projects at the University of
California, Santa Cruz. Her research interests include sexuality, verbal and
nonverbal communication, violence, social control, power and policies in total
institutions.
