Lois Svoboda, M.D., is a former family
medicine physician who has been trained in
Marriage & Family Therapy and worked as a
medical family therapist for 23 years in Wichita
Kansas. Since retiring to Fremont, Nebraska four
years ago, she opened a counseling practice and
is working with people who have exited cults. In
2005 she planned and was responsible for a full
day workshop for former cult members in Omaha,
Ne., as well as a one day symposium for medical,
law enforcement, clergy, mental health
professionals, and the public on Cults and Gangs
in Omaha in conjunction with Creighton
University. She has served on the board of
Wellspring Retreat and Recovery Center and is
the Family Editor of ICSA Today.
