Rienie Venter, Ph.D., is a lecturer at the Faculty of Education at the
University of South Africa. She is a senior educational psychologist and member
of CIEC, the Cult Information and Evangelical Centre, which is situated in
Johannesburg, South Africa. The theme for her doctoral research was therapeutic
