Message From ICSA's President
Welcome to International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA)!
Founded in 1979, the tax-exempt ICSA is a global network of people concerned about psychological manipulation and abuse in cultic and other high-control environments.
Such environments can cause harm that varies from mild to severe or even traumatic. The contexts in which harmful psychological manipulation arises also vary. Manipulation may occur in religious, psychological, political, commercial, familial, and other settings.
ICSA has published 10 books and more than 1000 articles and book reviews, hosted dozens of conferences and other events, made more than 100 conference videos available on its YouTube channel, and assembled a supportive network of helping professionals, researchers, families, and individuals adversely affected by psychological manipulation.
Begin your exploration of ICSA’s resources by examining the help/information page that seems most relevant to your concerns and interests. In addition to readings and videos, these pages may direct you to support groups, counselors, and other resources, as well as to a form through which you may request a brief consultation with an ICSA staff member or volunteer. Also, consider attending ICSA events.
ICSA depends completely upon the generosity of people like you to continue our work. Therefore, please consider supporting ICSA by donating and becoming a member.
Thank you!
Debby Schriver
President
